Northern Cardinals like this male in the picture will eat just about anything. Black oil sunflower, peanuts, fruit, and insects especially when they are feeding fledglings. They will come to just about any kind of backyard bird feeder. This picture is a “fly through” feeder. It allows birds of all types to just come pick up a little food and fly off quickly. Great feeder, attracts many types of birds but… you will be filling it everyday!

PS: That black thing underneath the feeder is a squirrel baffle. It keeps squirrels from climbing up the pole.
